← All guidesGUIDE 01 / SUN PROTECTION

Find a sunscreen that fits your day.

Start with the protection on the label, then think about the finish you want to wear. These two candidates offer different starting points: a stated matte finish or a mineral-filter formula.

Research-based comparison. No personal testing or independent performance measurements.

A CLOSER LOOK

The shortlist, explained.

Neutrogena

Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock

SPF 50+ PA++++ · 80 gm

For a matte-finish shortlist

Label protection
SPF 50+ · PA++++ [1] [2]
Listed size
80 gm [1]
Listed finish
Matte; oil-free [1]

Why it’s on the shortlist

Start here if a non-shiny finish matters to you. The listed SPF and PA ratings are clear, and the 80 gm variant is identified separately from older 30 ml listings.

The trade-off

A matte description cannot tell you how it will feel under your makeup. We have not checked white cast, eye comfort or wear in humid weather.

Consider it for the stated finish; judge comfort with your own routine.

SPF 50 · 80 ml

For a mineral-filter preference

Label protection
SPF 50 [3]
Listed size

Zinc oxide; mineral sunscreen [3]

Why it’s on the shortlist

A different starting point if you specifically want a zinc oxide sunscreen. The merchant identifies the filter and the exact 80 ml variant.

The trade-off

We could not corroborate this India listing with an exact matching brand page. Its PA rating and finish on different skin tones remain unverified.

Consider it for its listed filter, then inspect the current pack and finish.

MAKE IT YOURS

Before you choose.

01

Read the current pack

Check SPF, UVA protection, water-resistance information and the application instructions for the exact variant you receive.

02

Leave room for personal fit

We have not tested white cast, pilling or eye comfort. A product description cannot settle how a formula will wear on you.

03

Think beyond the bottle

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends broad-spectrum, water-resistant SPF 30 or higher, alongside shade and protective clothing. Reapply as directed. [4]

How we chose these candidates

We looked for a named sunscreen variant, a stated SPF and a specific Tata CLiQ listing. These two products illustrate different formula preferences; they are not a ranking of the whole market.

Selection is editorial judgment based on the linked sources. We have not tested these products or surveyed the full market. Read our method.
