OUR SELECTION METHOD

The details behind the shortlist.

A clear basis for a considered choice.

1. Start with a shopping need

Each guide has one job: compare a few sunscreen, cleanser or hair-serum candidates. We select distinguishable formats or variants rather than turn every guide into a long catalogue.

2. Identify the exact product

We record the product name, variant, listed size and merchant URL. A similar name or another pack size is not enough to transfer a formula claim. Our guide footnotes explain whether a detail came from a brand page or an indexed merchant listing.

3. Separate description from judgment

Product facts carry source references. Brand and merchant claims are labeled as such. “Why it’s on the shortlist” is our editorial reasoning, and “The trade-off” explains its limits. We have not personally tested these products, measured results or assigned review scores.

4. Show what remains uncertain

We omit unverified prices, ratings, discounts and stock claims. When ingredient information is missing or descriptions differ, the guide says so. Source review dates record when we checked the material, not a promise of live availability.

5. Keep commercial context visible

Shopping links may earn a commission through Cuelinks on eligible purchases. Affiliate availability shapes which merchant we can link to; it does not establish that a product suits every reader. We do not rank candidates by their payout or accept payment for a positive verdict.

6. Make corrections possible

Send the page URL and the detail you believe has changed to support@chonkysixty.com. Where possible, include a brand or merchant source. We review corrections before updating a guide and its source date.
